Precast construction is a way of construction where much of the work is done in a factory rather than on the construction site. The various concrete elements are custom produced in the factory where all the raw materials and tools are available. Precast materials are transported to the construction site where they are assembled into the structure.

Precast construction has many advantages over traditional construction. The actual construction is much faster resulting in a time and thus cost saving. This makes the project also less sensitive for inflation. In addition, the quality of components is guaranteed because the production takes place in a factory which is optimally equipped to produce the precast elements.
